Over the past decade, Kirsten of Turn-of-the-Centuries has found watercoloring small city blocks to be a mediative, thoughtful practice that connects her to Place. Seeing urban patterns emerge with paint, mixing colors to match a sensory experience of a Place...You just might get "hooked" too!

Provided with template (her hand-drawn street lines printed lightly onto watercolor paper), watercolor paint and pointy brush, enjoy mixing colors that resonate with your sense of the Place. Take time to engage in the meditative process of painting in the blocks and seeing your beloved neighborhood emerge.  Chat with your neighbors - may be the best part!

You'll take home your work, as well as two palettes with high-quality paint for mixing (dabs of artist grade paint instead of a cute kit with cheap paint for sustainability and quality. You'll be surprised at how little paint it takes to cover a large area.)  You'll also have some Tacoma Map goodies from Turn-of-the-Centuries as a little gift!  Let's paint together!
